About Tumbleweed
Tumbleweed Bicycle Company is a specialty bicycle company started by Daniel Molloy, a long-time bicycle mechanic who loves to explore remote places on the dirt with his bikes. Tumbleweed offers best in class bicycles and parts optimized for bikepacking and mountain bike touring. Tumbleweed sells consumer-direct and runs out of a warehouse off the Green Belt in Garden City and customers visit by appointment only.
At Tumbleweed, no expense is spared in the design, materials, and construction of our products. We set out to design best-in-class equipment for bikepacking and we are looking for someone to join our team that is interested in bikepacking, is organized and self-directed, and is interested in building on or developing bicycle mechanic skills. The Shop Associate will be primarily responsible for managing packing and shipping of Tumbleweed products and supporting the Production Coordinators in general shop support duties.

Position Description
- Pack and ship frames, complete bikes, and components.
- Provide support to two Production Coordinators as directed with entry-level mechanical tasks.
- Assist in general shop maintenance and cleaning.
- As a small business, there are a multitude of potential areas for growth depending on the individual’s skill set and aptitudes, which we will work with you to identify and develop.
Wages: Hourly rate is negotiable based on demonstrated skill and experience and ranges from $17-19/hour.
Schedule: 20-30 hours a week, shop hours are Monday-Friday, 10am - 6pm. We are focused on a skill and personality match and can be flexible with the right candidate on total hours and desired schedule.

Required Skills/Experience
- Strong interest/experience with cycling, knowledge and experience with bike touring/bikepacking.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Organized, self-starter, and attentive to detail.
- Friendly, helpful and professional demeanor in person and over the phone.
- Ability to have fun, stay relaxed, ask questions, and keep learning.
- A sense of humor and willingness to be flexible in a growing small business environment.
- Currently living, or willing to relocate and work full-time out of Boise, ID.
