Persuader Bar

The Persuader bar is our original handlebar offering, and one that brings  supreme comfort and control in the face of the rigors of long days on loaded bikes and inhospitable terrain. We designed the Persuader based on many years and thousands of miles of loaded off-road touring. Over the years we’ve expanded the variants and finishes of the Persuader; it now comes in 20-degree and 30-degree sweep options, 800mm and 840mm widths and black or polished silver finishes so that there’s a variant for just about anyone. 

The Persuader bar is made of butted, heat-treated 7000 series aluminum alloy in a shot-peened black or polished silver finish. It features a 50mm rise (center of clamp to end of the bar) and two super-comfy options for back sweep angle: a trail-oriented 20-degree version, and a 30-degree touring-oriented version. 

We designed the Persuader with a few ideas in mind. First, we wanted a wide bar for leverage and control on rough trails with heavy loads, paired with a natural backsweep angle. We also needed a wide straight section next to the stem for mounting bags and accessories, so there’s no forward sweep or built in loops or extensions, but lots of room to customize. Then, we wanted to maximize real estate in the grip area so that riders could use a variety of grip/brake lever/shifter options and leave plenty of room to trim the bar to suit rider preferences. 

The narrowest we’ve trimmed them to is 760mm, but there’s still plenty of room to go narrower. To get both a wide front section and a long grip section, we had custom tooling made to get the bend radius in the bar as tight and compact as possible.

With an 840mm bar, Daniel runs a 30-40mm shorter stem on the 20-degree bars (60-70mm stem length) than the same bike with 30-degree bars (90-100mm stem length).

This bar has proven to be wildly popular, and we’ve received feedback from a wide range of customers who use Persuader bars on our bikes and others.
